Tronrud Engineering was founded by Ola Tronrud in a workshop located on the ground floor of his house, in a residential area in Ringerike County (Norway).
For 7 years, Tronrud Engineering remained a one-man- business, and the customers were Norwegian factories and companies such as Raufoss, Jordan, Stabburet and Grorud Jernvare.
Ola Tronrud bought a new property in Hole (the neighbor county) and relocated the company to a brand-new factory building.
From then on, expansion became the rule! Tronrud Engineering was located in Hole from 1984 to 1999, and during this period the factory went through seven major building expansions. In the end, the factory was about to outgrow the property.
Ola Tronrud bought an industrial property at Eggemoen Airport, back in Ringerike county.
The seller was the local government, and the property included part of a runway from WWII and a vast forested plateau. The remaining part of the area was owned by the Norwegian Army. When they closed down their activities in 2001, Ola Tronrud acquired their property as well, bit by bit.
Tronrud Engineering was spread on several locations, waiting for the new production facilities to be completed at Eggemoen.
We celebrated that for the first time in 12 years the entire company was assembled on one address.
We moved into two brand new buildings totaling 12 000 m2 in total (~120 000 square feet).
The firstborn son of Ola Tronrud, Olav Tronrud, takes over the leadership and becomes the company's CEO.
Svein Steinsvik is Tronrud Engineering's new General Manager. Olav Tronrud continuous within the company as a sales manager for automation solutions and special machines.

More than 6000 projects have been completed since 1977! The company currently has 150 employees in its premises at Eggemoen, plus another 50 in its subsidiary in Moss.
Over the past few years, a growing number of high-tech industries have moved to Eggemoen, becoming part of Eggemoen Aviation and Technology Park.
